Why people build with MPB
-
Our own crews
Your building is raised by our own crews, never subcontracted — so one accountable team owns the quality from footing to final trim, and you always know who is responsible for the work.
-
49 years in
Family-owned since 1977, more than 1,000 buildings across Oregon and Washington — decades of hands-on experience, and the trust that comes with it.
-
Transparent bidding
No mystery line items, no high-pressure close, no surprise costs after the contract — you always know exactly what you are getting.
We'd rather show you the bones.
Anyone can photograph finished steel. The strength of a pole building is decided in the framing: post embedment, truss connections, girt spacing. This is ours, mid-build at sunrise on a Yamhill County stall barn.

Wondering what it costs?
Price comes down to size, snow load, doors, finish, and how much of the build you take on. We write honest numbers for your specific project instead of a misleading "starting at" figure.
What customers say
Reviews from our Google Business Profile.
“Miner Pole Buildings has built 4 buildings for us over the last 24 years. We have been very happy with every single one. Mark genuinely cares about meeting the customer’s needs and is extremely professional—in fact all the MPB employees we have interacted with (from the office to out on the job site) have been great. There’s a reason they’ve been in business for over 45 years. We will definitely use MPB again for any future projects.”
“Communication is of paramount importance to me. Miner communicated clearly throughout the design and building process. They were very responsive to questions. Their pricing was transparent and they completed the building on time and on budget.”
“In our experience, Miner Pole Buildings was a breath of fresh air. Throughout the whole project, customer service was on point. So attentive. So accommodating to changes both subtle and significant.”
“They were incredibly professional, reasonably priced and we felt like they went above and beyond to get us exactly what we needed out of our building. Mark himself came down here to fix something that wasn’t done correctly after the build.”
“Everything about Mark Miner’s operation is top notch. My timeline, budget, communication needs and quality expectations were all met or exceeded. Mark is a straight shooter, hard working, easy to communicate with and does an outstanding job.”
“13 years ago Ron and his son built me an indoor arena with a 36 foot clear span barn. Love my barn, people drive in and ask who built it. 3 more have been built around the Rogue Valley. They will build my new hay barn when I am ready.”
Common questions
What is a pole building?
A pole building, also called post-frame, is built on treated wood posts set on footings with clear-span roof trusses bridging between them, instead of stick-framed walls on a continuous foundation. It is the most cost-effective way to enclose a large clear span, which is why it dominates farm, shop, equestrian, and commercial construction in the Pacific Northwest.
What does Miner Pole Buildings build?
Pole barns, shops and garages, agricultural buildings, equestrian arenas and stall barns, commercial pole buildings, storage buildings, and barndominium-style structures. Sizes run from compact single-bay shops to the largest clear-span arenas and multi-bay commercial buildings, as big or as small as the project calls for. We have built more than 1,000 buildings across Oregon and Washington since 1977.
Where does MPB work?
Across every county in Oregon and southwest Washington, from the Willamette Valley through Hood River and the Columbia Gorge to the Washington side. The shop is in Hubbard, Oregon.
Do you sell pole barn kits?
Yes. We offer the same package three ways: kit (materials and stamped plans, you build it), shell (our crew raises the structure, you finish it), and turnkey (we handle the whole build). Most customers start thinking kit and land on shell or turnkey once they price out their own labor.
Do I need a permit for a pole barn in Oregon?
Sometimes. Most Oregon and Washington counties recognize an agricultural exemption that lets ag-use buildings on qualified parcels skip a full structural permit. Anything residential, commercial, or non-ag use needs a county-permitted, engineer-stamped build. We can tell you which path your project falls under before you commit.
How much does a pole building cost?
It comes down to size, eave height, roof pitch (snow load), the number of doors and windows, the metal and insulation you choose, and how much of the labor you take on. We write every bid as a clear base price plus itemized additions rather than posting a misleading "starting at" number. Send your details through the quote form for a real figure.
